Thanks Amelia for commenting on my review of Children From The Sea by Lookman. I am pleased that my review has generated discussion and debate. I feel like I have done my job. As I said in the review, the book is well written and entertaining. The author looks at the world the way things are rather than how they could be. Someone else may read this book and see it a totally different way. In the end, it's a book that causes thought and discussion and, in my mind, that's a good thing.
Best,

So here you are, Amelia! When I was in sixth grade, I read a book about "The Search for Amelia Earhart." I was fascinated with the mystery. I wrote to my senator, Ed Brooke (R-Mass), asking him to look into your disappearance. He wrote back, promising that he would. He didn't. Later, he lost election to his third term. I'm sure his loss was directly tied to his failure to act on my sixth grade letter. ;-)

Honestly, I live in hometown and we have a festival and the search lights were contantly going on the Amelia Earhart Bridge until construction ran amok.
